Welcome to Polokwane Oval!

WINTER TROPHY - RACE FOR RANDS - 31 July 2010

Polokwane will be making history again. For the first time Oval Track drivers will be able to put money in their pockets because of their driving skills.

Polokwane will be hosting the 6 racing classes as per the usual club events but R10 000 will be up for grabs in the 1600 Modified class, R10 000 in the 2.0L Modified class as well as R10 000 in the Hotrod class. In each of these classes there must be a minimum of 15 cars which will produce spectacular racing for the spectators and drain the last energy from the drivers. The Polokwane Oval's racing line is a mere 389m and with 15 cars where every driver wants to make the first corner first, big accidents will be on the cards.

Drivers as far as Welkom in the Free State, has confirmed their participation. Gauteng drivers which are quite familiar with the Polokwane track has expressed their feeling - "We will come to fetch the money" This phrase got the drivers from Polokwane up in arms which is a guarantee that the 70 cars which has entered the Winter Trophy so far, will increase and no inch will be asked nor given. Bumper to bumper racing with furious tempers in between will keep the officials busy.

A bonus at this event is that Polokwane Oval will be hosting the National event on 6 November 2010 and a lot of drivers in the Stock rod class will visit us during the event of 31 July to "feel" the track for the coming National event. As Polokwane Oval has already 23 Stock rod drivers and those from Gauteng will push the grid total over 30 cars. Not to be missed.

Because of the winter season, Gates will open earlier, 12:00 and racing will start at 15:00. Spectators need to take note of this.

Come and support your local drivers against the Gauteng invitation.
